Inhoud keynotelezing

Cognitive behaviour therapy is recommended as a treatment of choice in many national and international mental health guidelines. Surveys of the public suggest that they have a 3:1 preference for psychological therapy compared to medication but in most countries the public does get what it wants.  This talk focuses on efforts to greatly increase the public availability of effective psychological therapies using the English Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme and it's international derivatives as a case example. It will cover ways in which economics, politics, psychotherapy research, digital initiatives and dissemination science can be interwoven to help members of the public and psychological therapists who feel under pressure.
